The first part of our trip was in London. There we got to see family and all the famous sites. The first day we visited with Andrew's Aunt and Uncle. He had not seen them for almost 18 years. It was a fun afternoon and just what we needed after spending a bazillion hours on an airplane. We rested at a little diner and ate yummy food while we chatted.
I knew if I came to England I would find Darcy.
Aunt Jan, and Uncle Richard - so nice of them to drive down to see us. They live over 2 hours away and had to be super patient and wait for our much delayed plane.I love seeing all the history in England. Everything is so OLD - it was fun to see things and places (and stay in places) that were several hundreds of years old. It made me feel like for a moment I was able to step back in history and experience it. I like to think the Darcy's (and Austens) frequented bookstores like this one in London. Maybe even the first editions of Pride and Prejudice were sold here.

Love the iconic things you see easily in London - all the things that you think of when you think of England.
The London Underground (subway) was super fun and easy to use. And you get to see lots of very "unique" people.
Westminster Abbey
Big Ben - Love this building. I don't know why but I've always liked it.
London Eye
Cool art sculpture at the Museum of Art
Big Ben and the Houses of Parlament
Sweet picture took from the boat trip up the Thames River we took with Andrew's cousins. We did this the second day we were in London. And it was so fun to see some of the buildings from the view of the river. Also to see the warehouses along the river (I think of the Gardiners in Cheapside). This is the Tower Bridge.
Luckily, there are some places in London that can serve proper hamburgers - as apposed to improper, I guess.
Our lovely tour guides, Vernon and Lynnette Mackrory (Andy's dad's cousins actually). We got to see them when we came through London 7 years ago on our way to South Africa. They were great tour guides then showing us lots of London in a short amount of time. This time they met up with us and we took a boat to Greenwich up the Thames River. Then we browsed through a fun little market with lots of cool things and of course, had Fish N Chips. Lovely day over all. Love these guys.
