Canada: Niagara Falls

We did all the fun stuff at the falls.  Including having an adventure of an evening staying at a hotel that looked great on the internet (pictures were WAY outdated) but where it was dirty and where people partied all night long (loudly!) and were eventually evicted by the police at 5:30 am.  Andy's protector and valiant hero qualities came out when he negotiated (demanded and received) a refund from the manager for the second night we were supposed to stay there and a discounted rate for the first night (in which we slept zero hours).  Once the negotiations were finalized everyone (Charlotte's family and our family) moved up the road to a very delightful, very clean, very non-smoking, non-party all night long, non-drug paraphernalia everywhere hotel where we slept much more peacefully the second night.  Also, it had a pool.

The following three pictures are from the "White Water Rapids River Walk."  You can walk right next to the river (after the falls) where some of the fastest and highest class (level 6) - they say professional white water rapid kayakers can do level 4 and that if they try these - they just have to be fished out of the water (unhappily less living as a result).  They were impressive and very beautiful.

We also did the Maid of the Mist boat ride to the falls.  It was our favorite of the different attractions.  A boat takes you right up to the Horseshoe Falls and basically we have no pictures because we were soaked even with the provided ponchos.  This picture is from before we got on the boat.  I have one later in the post that shows one of the boats up close to the falls.
This was from the Behind the Falls attraction.  It was also a favorite because you could get so close to them.  You also got quite wet though.  It was the perfect time of day to go because we got to see a full rainbow.

Rock cliffs next to the falls.

Looking back towards the American falls.
One of the boats for the Maid of the Mist.  It gets lots closer to the falls than it shows in the picture.

 Charlotte's brother and father.
Oh Canada:  We were less impressed with you this time around except for the beauty of the falls.  My suggestions: get some bigger road signs and make sure they are NOT placed only 3 feet before the required turn/attraction.  Otherwise, fun.
