Ruby Is Three!

It doesn't seem possible but it is.  My little baby is not a baby but a full grown three year old with full gown opinions, tastes, and attitudes.  She is lively, spunky and totally her own person.  She picks her own clothes (often changing them several times a day until Mom goes crazy and finally locks her door).  She loves dresses, jewelry, girly shoes, and any accessories to complete the look she can make.  She is also very complimentary.  She will tell you if you look pretty, or if she likes your necklace and will often give people spontaneous ego boosts with her approval of their looks.  It only backfires when she tells her dad "You look pretty" when he wears his kilt.  She is also still very good at saying please and thank you.  She still sucks her thumb but will tell you she should not suck her thumb because the dentist said not to.  She is also the police officer in our home - making sure everyone (except herself) obeys the rules and hears a second retort to the one a parent just gave them.  She cant be persuaded to do anything she does not want to do unless you are tricky (and Mom is) and can make her think it was her idea.  Her only real life's complaint is the things she cant do yet because she isn't big enough (like ride the bus with her siblings).  She loves to talk to Mom's belly and tell her baby sister things - though for some reason believes it must be said in a baby voice that is unrecognizable as human speech.  Therefore, we often have no idea what she said.  I hope its not some sisterly coup to overthrow the parental government.
Ruby was more than thrilled to get her own poofy skirt on her birthday to match the one Corilynn got (and she coveted) on her birthday.

She still takes naps (much to Mom's delight) but during a recent illness was found to have fallen asleep on the piano bench.  A cuteness that just had to be documented.
We love our little Sergeant Ruby.  Cannot imagine our lives without her.
