Welcome Ruby Evelyn!

Ruby Evelyn Mackrory (Baby Tiny) - The whole story!

Born December 12, 2009 - a crazy 9 days late.

In what is beginning to be a pattern for me, my water broke while I was throwing up in the morning at 5:30 am. I had been having contractions 5-6 min apart the entire night but nothing really bothersome. After waiting for some more regular contractions to start, we called the Midwife on call, Laura, and arranged to go to the hospital later in the morning.
We arrived at the hospital around 10 am and had to walk around a bit to keep the contractions going. Regular contractions started at about 12 noon and were consistent and building. Our midwife was just the best one possible for us. She was such a great advocate for us against the occasional grumpy and demanding nurse. She was supportive and in the room with us helping me to relax 95% of the time. We were just lucky to have her.

Just a few minutes after 6 pm, my contractions nearly sent me into the afterlife. Laura checked me and I was 7 cm. A few more really NARLY contractions and 3 minutes of pushing and our little Tiny was born at 6:28 pm on December 12, 2009. She was a beautiful 8 lbs 7 0z baby with more hair than her siblings did but still characteristically Putnam in her baldness. Her hair is also darker than Lyman and Corilynn's were. She was 20 inches long and has the longest, most dainty fingers.

She had meconium in the amniotic fluid so she had to be rushed right after deliver to make sure her lungs were clear. It was really hard for me not to get to hold her for her first 30 minutes of life and instead watch her cry and wiggle at a table a few feet away. Thankfully later in the evening she and I got to know each other and had a good snuggle.

Daddy is most smitten with his little girl and could not get enough of her. She seems to have a temper indicative of her name - Ruby means red and her temper is red hot when she is upset. Her cry is endearing though and so Daddy cant resist grabbing her as soon as she whimpers.

We are so excited to have her in our family and the kids are thrilled about their new baby sister. It had been nice for me to see that my other kids have missed me while at the hospital since as the mean old Mom that stays home with them telling them no fighting, eat your food and don't sit on your sister all day long - usually Dad is the favorite since he is like the circus comes to town every time he gets home from work. Lyman in particular as missed me very much and I enjoy his phone calls to talk to me.

We hope you all enjoy our pictures and thank you all for the many prayers you have said on our behalf during the crazy last week and a half of waiting and hoping. Finally she is here and the secret is out - We have another beautiful little heart warming wrapped around our finger little girl.
Andy and our midwife, Laura.
Aunt Donna got to be there for the birth.

She totally looks a ton like Lyman did. That makes me think that she will look a lot like you. Lyman is already a little male version of you, but little Ruby looks just like he did. Love you so much! Congratulations!
