Thankful Thursday

Dear Ruby,

What an amazing little girl you are growing into lately. You are such a smiley girl and we love to talk to you because you never stop smiling when we do.

You especially love your brother who loves to come and give you kisses and hugs all day long. You don't mind when he tries to lift you up for the hug when Mom is not looking and you graciously play along when he holds your hands and makes you move your arms in funny ways. You also humor him with a smile when he tries to tickle your feet. You have found your voice and tell us such long silly stories.

You discovered your hands a few days ago. It is amazing to see your little mind turn the gears as you carefully, and still wobbily reach for a toy. You watch with amazement as you make contact with the toy you want to reach and you grab and release with your fingers. I especially love to see the excitement and wonder in your eyes when your eyes follow your arm from your hand to your shoulder to discover that its attached to you and that you really are working it. You have mastered bringing your hands to your face and love to suck and drool away on them.
You haven't rolled over yet but I think it will be soon. You get pretty close when you lift your head up way above the rest of your body. Your head is still covered in dark hair though not as much as it used to. Some of it has fallen out but other parts have started to grow. I'm excited to see what color it will be when it all comes in. Of course you fit right in our family with your bright big blue eyes.

Ruby, you have your favorite outfits to wear. You love to do blow out diapers in them whenever you wear them. They happen to be my favorite ones on you too. Could you work on your excitement levels while wearing them? Id like to see you in them for longer than a couple of hours.

I'm not sure what you have been needing at night lately because you haven't been sleeping as well as you usually do. I hope we figure that out soon because I enjoyed getting more sleep. Lets work on that.
Ruby, I am thankful for you today on Thankful Thursday. You are a lovely girl with a beautiful personality. Thank you for coming to our family and adding more love to my life.
