Apple Picking!

Yesterday we went apple picking as a family. There are two pick your own apple orchards just 5 minutes from our house. We went with another family that is friends with us. The kids loved running around the trees and helping reach high apples when we lifted them up. We picked 1.5 bushels of Jonathon and Sparton apples. That is about 60 lbs. Of course I didn't pack my camera for those fun moments because I always forget it. But I did get the before and after results of our canning the rest of the day. We canned 42 + quart jars of apple pie filling. Our friends are going to make apple butter and apple sauce to trade with us. Yum yum yum!

I was wondering why you had canned so much apple pie filling; now it makes sense. The apples look good. Did you taste any fresh off the tree?
