Lyman tells me how it's going to be...

This afternoon the kids were watching me make some cinnamon rolls for Andy's birthday tomorrow. I was spreading the brown sugar over all of the dough when Lyman asked, "Can I taste some of the brown sugar because it's really yummy?" I said "nope, not this time." (Despite the fact that I try not to give my kids pure sugar because its unhealthy and it defeats the purpose of keeping their energy level in a zone where I don't loose my brains- dinner was in the oven and I didn't want to have to fight him about eating because he was full of sugar.) After I told him no he said, "Well when I become a Dad and my kid asks me if he can have some brown sugar to eat - I am going to say 'yes' because it's really yummy." I had to turn around to hide my chuckle and compose myself before I told him "When you are a Dad, you can make that decision for your kids."

Here is my little man sporting his new church clothes and his Dad's old missionary tag - who also is going to make a much cooler and more popular parent than I am someday.
Here is my little girl who looks lovely in her new church clothes - complete with new shoes and tights. Why is it that it seems to pour at my house when my kids need clothes - everything all at once. Cant their feet, legs, and other body parts grow on a rotation so that I don't have to buy things all at once? Its so expensive this way.
And here is one of the two of them together. They looked so cute - nearly matching with their navy blue. And did you notice that Lyman's hair is almost long enough to comb? We are nearly past the horrible self salon nightmare of a few months ago.

I love Lyman's sugar response! Their clothes look great - nice choices!
