Vicious Cycle

Today is laundry day at our house and something that has always bothered me about doing laundry is that you are never ever done with it. You load every piece of fabric in your home into the washer and clean everything. Then hours later when you get ready for bed - BAM! More laundry.

The only solution I see is to do laundry in the nude. This not only would be a violation of my ethics but also a horrible disaster should someone stop by unannounced - not to mention the emotional scarring of my kids and of course there is the issue of the draftiness that would be experienced. But even this solution is temporary because as soon as you do put clothes on after every bit of laundry is cleaned, folded and put away- BAM BAM - you have laundry again.

I think this is a never ending cycle set up by the detergent companies' efforts to enslave us into buying a continuous supply of soap. I am open to any other solutions the public can offer on this issue. As for now: I'm off to fold load number 2 while load numbers 3 and 4 are in the washer and dryer respectively.

That's why you only do laundry once a day, and leave the light off in the laundry room. Just toss it in and try not to smell anything back there.

And we started using 50 percent less detergent, and totally still have fresh and clean clothes. Take that detergent companies.

I have no cure. I think everything we do at home as a cycle of neverendingness. Everything gets done over and over again. I am impressed you only do it once a week. I space it out so I don't have tons in 1 day. Usually Monday I do 2 loads, Wed 1 load of darks and Fri or Sat 1 or 2 more loads, depending. I HATE laundry. Not so much the washing, but the folding.

Just do as some do and wash everything in one day... and don't fold it... just scavenge through the pile throughout the week and hope that the last pair of socks don't have holes or are close to each other in the pile. :)

PS, computer generated word of day:

Dattic, Ebonic word derived from the phrase "Da Attic" meaning of course in English "The Attic."
