It always amazes me how fast my weekends go. This weekend has been sooo fast because we have had so much to do which is probably why. Here is an overview of our nutty last few days.

Sunday - I substitute taught Lyman's Sunday School class. I was actually nervous he might be like "oh great- my bum mother is going to teach - Boring with a capital B" - (of course my rhetoric here is assuming he can read and knows boring starts with a B and that he would use such phrases as "bum mother") - anyway to my pleasant surprise he was so thrilled when he found out that he kept telling everyone he saw in the hallway on the way to his class (millions of people) that "my mom is my teacher today' - it made me feel good to see he was excited for me to teach his class and considering his deep attachment and preference for his Dad - that made my day. The only downside for my day was that I am getting sick I think and have terrible congestion. I did take a nap today which was nice.
Friday we sent the kids to a friends house early in the morning around 8:30 and drove up north about 45 minutes and did dry pack canning for our food storage. We asked the people up there when we submitted our order (HUGE!) how long it would take so we could arrange the babysitting and he said that it would take 3-4 hours and I confirmed that there would only be the two of us (Andy and I - he was off Friday). The guy said that he and his wife would be helping and that we could do it in that time. 4 hrs later we still have a LOT of flour, dry milk and oats to package and so nowhere near done yet. After all the dry pack canning we also had to clean everything up. We didn't get to pick up our kids til like 1.5 hrs after we had planned. grrr. Here is the kicker - the guy said when we were leaving that we should have probably had 2 more people to help us with the size of order we had. (what!) oh well. We did find that you don't need a truck if you have a minivan where the third seat folds down. We got over a 1000 lbs of food in there plus the weight of the cans, pouches boxes etc.
Saturday - STAMPIN UP PARTY! Yippee- It was so fun to get together with some girlfriends and do some good old fashioned card making while the husbands (a few of them anyway) took the kids to the park and to taco bell. The party was such a success that with hostess benefits (free stamp sets plus free merchandise up to a certain dollar amount depending on the total party sales) and the sale-a-bration thing going on - I got more free stuff than I bought. And the demonstrator had a thing where you get a punch in a card for ever X number of dollars you buy from her and once you filled the card she would give you $25 of free merchandise. So I filled a card and was finished with my order (of nearly everything I could dream of wanting because of getting $95 in free merchandise) she tells me to pick out $25 more stuff - I was actually like "OH ugggg" cause I already had all I wanted but when is shopping on someone else's dime ever really a bad thing? So I did what any reasonable person would do and - got more stuff. :) Here are some pictures of some of the stamp sets I got. Look for them in a card coming to you soon!

My weekend in a "peanut" shell... Work, work, more work, and then work some more... no day off since Thursday before last, none on horizon till Thursday next week... Inventory prep sucks.
