Thankful Thursday

Today's Thankful Thursday is a hodgepodge of things. My kids (this being inclusive of Andrew) are thankful that we live nearby the Goodyear blimp garage. Therefore every now and then we see it fly directly over our house on its way up to Akron where it lives.
I am thankful that Ohio is such a green place to live. I love that I live in the town of Green cause that is exactly what it is like here. However I am less grateful that here you have to mow the lawn sometimes twice a week because in one week (yes 7 short days) the grass grows over 6 inches. When you have a half acre to mow - that takes 2 hrs each time. I'm not complaining about the size of our lot - just the job it creates. Below is a picture of the mow line once while Andrew was mowing so you can see the length he was cutting in just 6 days.

Corilynn is thankful that last week her swim instructor could fill in for me since I didn't feel well enough to go into the pool. She loved playing in the pool and may have been more bold with the exercises than Lyman was. She is such a fish and loves swimming so much.

I am thankful that she looks so cute in her swimsuit. She acts just like a princess and being in this suit only adds to that. In fact the other night when we put her to bed - after we were sitting in there to help her say her prayers - we tucked her in and then being pretty tired as well, Andrew and I simply sat or laid on her floor for a short minute gathering strength to get up and go out of the room. After a minute or so, Corilynn sits up in her bed and tells us "I am trying to sleep, go now." Yes oh princess Corilynn. We were laughing as we left - wondering if we should check for a pea under her mattress.
I am also thankful for the cute things Lyman says. Recently he has picked up on a few bigger words. I heard him to say to Corilynn the other night, "Corilynn if you give me the lawn mower, then I will certainly give you the baby back". Certainly! It was such a funny phrase to me. I am thankful also that he is always willing to hold my hand or give me a hug when I am not feeling well. He understand far beyond his years sometimes and is such a sensitive friend to me.
