Thankful Thursday!

I am thankful today for my garden! We planted our garden a few weeks ago with some tomato and pepper plants and I planted cucumber seeds. I was worried about the cucumber seeds because I don't always trust myself with seeds - I worry that they wont work so I usually like to stick to potted veggies. We had to build a fence to ward off the plentiful wildlife that is near our house- namely the deer who would like to munch on our crunchy veggies. The pictures turned out dark because I took them at dusk but you get the idea. We have 7 tomato plants (two cherry, 5 celebrity), 4 pepper plants, and hopefully a lot of cucumber plants. You can see the fence better in the second photo.I just checked the garden again today and we already have 2 tomatoes that I can see starting to sprout- though they are only the size of jelly beans and we have one maybe another pepper too. But the most exciting thing is that a few of my cucumber plants have popped out of the ground! Success!!!! I am thankful we have space for a garden that things grow so well here in Ohio. I don't think I could have moved somewhere where I could not plant tomato plants at least.

Another thing I am thankful for today that would be wrong of me not to express is that I am 12 weeks today and I took the kids with me to the doctor's office and they got to hear the baby's heartbeat. If you ask Lyman to describe what it sounded like - he does a pretty funny sound. He will also tell you that the baby is "the size of a french fry - that is 3 inches long." I am thankful things are going fine this time and that we have a healthy heartbeat to get to hear.

How exciting! Your very own garden space with yummy tomatoes growing in it. I love garden tomatoes more than just about anything. Great job KaraLynne.

And I am so happy to hear that the pregnancy is going well as well. Grow on little french fry! :)
